In the Spring 2015 issue of Cape Cod Home Magazine, this sensitively designed property was featured on the cover "This lower cape farm house designed and built by Chatham's Polhemus Savery DaSilva, is a careful integration of form and function. The house was sited to avoid taking down a large tree, keep lawn areas in scale and leave surrounding woods and meadows as untouched as possible."
In their March 2015 Parks issue, Landscape Architect and Specifier News selected John Ruiz Park in Chelsea for one of the Feature Articles! We're pleased and proud to have our work recognized once again: "When Chelsea, Mass. obtained a 7,315 square foot parcel in the heart of a densely-populated neighborhood, the space was a brownfield site. With open space at a premium, and opportunities to create new public parks rare, the City administration settled on a new park as the highest and best use of the property..."
As 2015 begins, CBA is pleased to announce that Megan Tomkins has been named a Senior Associate in recognition of her growing role in the firm and profession.
We also are excited to welcome aboard Aaron Kraemer, Landscape Designer, who recently relocated to the Boston area and joined CBA's team at the start of the new year.
From the Dorchester Reporter, Nov. 20 2014:
"A new youth soccer program is under formation in Mattapan— a neighborhood that organizers say is primed to embrace the sport on a beautiful new playing field at Almont Park... “This was spurred by the fact that the Boston Parks Department just redid Almont Park. When the city overhauled that they put in a beautiful turf field. It begged to be a necessity really. The renovation happened over the last year, so the timing was perfect,” said MacNeil."
CBA is pleased and proud to see our work inspiring new activities and programs!

There will be no standing eight count. John Ruiz Park, honoring the former World Boxing Association heavyweight champ, is done. The park at the corner of Blossom Street and Washington Avenue in the knockout artist’s native Chelsea was unveiled this week. “I’m honored for myself and my family,” said Ruiz, 42, who was joined by his family and several city and state officials, including City Manager Jay Ash. “Winning the championship is one thing, but the support from the city itself is even better and I will never forget that.” The park, the first in Chelsea named for a Latino resident, has a fitness theme, with stationary exercise equipment, a rock-climbing sculpture, picnic area, and a water fountain. “As much as we all recognize John’s accomplishments in the ring, this park means more than just what John accomplished in his profession,” said Ash. “Dedicating it to John is about how people can act through success and return back and give back to the community.” In 18 years as a pro, Ruiz won 44 fights with 30 knockouts. The vanquished included Evander Holyfield, Hasim Rahman, Tony Tucker, and Andrew Golota.
