Quigley Park, Chelsea, MA

Quigley Park packs a wide mix of classic playground uses into its compact space to function as this dense neighborhood’s “shared backyard.” CBA’s design for the renovation revitalizes the space, adding a walking path around the multipurpose lawn area, a new basketball hoop and key, and park lighting. The redesign features contemporary new play structures, a splash pad, ample seating, and colorful graphics and rubber surfacing, while protecting all of the site’s mature trees and planting several additional new trees. A curving triangle motif repeats throughout the space, from the shade canopies on the play structures and the planter islands around the trees to the lighting elements.
